The HASS Digital Research Hub (HDRH) exists to increase digital research capability across all ANU HASS disciplines. Established in 2024, we aim to become a nationally and internationally distinctive research facility, implementing the highest quality software engineering (RSE) infrastructure and methods in support of ANU’s national mission.
Our primary mission is to help colleagues with the development and delivery of research grant bids, providing consultancy, costing, technical development, and infrastructure. We aim to be collaborative and flexible, embracing heterogeneity of design and attending to the values, principles, and ethics of digital research. No research question or technology is out of scope, and we are as interested in enabling people new to digital research as collaborating with experienced technical colleagues.
The team embraces both emerging and established research technologies and is focused on the development of scalable and sustainable infrastructure. We collaborate with academic colleagues, as well as colleagues in the Galleries, Libraries, Archives and Museum (GLAM) and wider government sector. We have a strong interest in helping Australia build capacity in sustainable modes of design and development and are committed to enabling Indigenous design and data sovereignty. Our focus is national and regional, developing distinctive approaches to digital research across Australia and the Asia Pacific region.
