We recognise that artificial intelligence (AI) is a major opportunity for the HASS research community, as well as being a disruption and cause for ethical concern. Our aim is to work with colleagues to understand, use, and critique AI in the service of HASS research.
The team has significant capacity in the use of Large Language Models (LLMs) and other forms of machine learning for research, and access to a wide range of infrastructure. We're happy to work with colleagues who are seeking to understand and use these technologies for the first time. Additionally, we have experience in the use of AI in the government and Galleries, Libraries, Archives, and Museum (GLAM) sector and are interested in use cases in those sectors. Contact us for:
- Advice about funding submissions related to any aspects of AI for HASS.
- Infrastructure for AI research, from local prototyping to high performance computing (HPC) or commercial cloud.
- Advice about GPU provisioning and costing.
- Tools such as Jupyter Notebooks and Rstudio, hosted on high performance computing (HPC) infrastructure. HDRH can help you access GPU via the National Computing Infrastructure (NCI), ARDC Nectar Cloud, and local institutional clusters.
